Colored Canyon is a very unusual, interesting and fascinating place, which is located on the Sinai Peninsula. Its name speaks for itself. Thanks to the admixtures of iron oxide and manganese, the canyon rocks have the most vibrant colors: white, yellow, pink, green, orange, burgundy, red, purple. The color of the rocks in some places is very bright with a prismatic metallic sheen; in other places the color of the stone is very soft and delicate. It is hard to believe that there was a sea on this stretch of the Sinai Mountains millions of years ago. Natural disaster made its own adjustments, a huge earthquake lifted the seabed, thus constructing one of the most beautiful places on Earth. For several centuries, water, the sun and the wind have carved indentations in the red sandstone. The bottom of the former sea took the form of an intricate labyrinth, and a huge canyon of red folded sand appeared to the human eye. During rains (rains occur on average 4 times a year), the canyon, which usually dries up during the year, is flooded with water. After heavy rains in 2002, some of the rocks in the gorge shifted and became unstable. Desert winds also left their mark in the gorge, carving the most intricate patterns in the colored rocks. In some places of the Color Canyon, you can see especially noteworthy stories, which are associated with many stories and legends. These are coral prints, a dinosaur footprint, bringing luck to the “eyes” of the canyon and the “throne” of Cleopatra. The drawings on the rocks excite the imagination - here you can find human faces, fabulous animals and birds, faces of a deity or something else that your imagination tells you. In the canyon you can find an amazing plant - a unique climbing tree that has healing powers. They know how to influence the well-being of people with positive vibes. The color canyon is not only delightful and unusual, it is also difficult to conquer: narrow gaps through which it is not easy to climb, unbearably scorching sun, tangled labyrinths of paths. All this is a test of fortitude. The length of this native gorge is 5 kilometers. The height of the rocks is 20-80 meters, the passage between them is 1-10 meters. Any bend of the Colored Canyon gives the traveler a surprise.
