The Chapel of the Gate of Dawn (Aušros Vartai) in Vilnius is one of the most famous and revered religious sites in the capital of Lithuania. Located above the Gate of Dawn, which is part of the city's ancient fortifications, this chapel serves as an important spiritual center for both Catholic and Orthodox believers. A small chapel was built above the gate, and soon the icon of the Virgin Mary, painted in the Renaissance style with elements of Byzantine art, appeared here.
