Gunung-Lezer Nature Reserve

In the northern part of the island of Sumatra is the largest reserve in Indonesia - Gunung-Leser, created to protect the habitats of the Sumatran rhino and orangutan. Here, in the region of the highest peak of Northern Sumatra - Mount Leser, picturesque mountain landscapes and unique outcrops of rocks are protected. Tourists admire the volcano Krakatau, the eruption of which in 1883 was recognized as one of the greatest cataclysms in the history of mankind. Then the island was destroyed and more than 36 thousand people died.
