The Palazzo Casa Rocca Piccola is located in the city of Valletta - the capital of Malta. The palace was built 400 years ago, during the rule of the Knights of Malta on the island. The mansions in Valletta were built with splendor and splendor, able to compete with the palaces of Paris and Venice. The Palazzo Casa Rocca Piccola belonged to Admiral Don Pietro La Rocca, in whose honor he was named, now the family of the Marquis de Piro lives in it. The palace consists of 50 rooms, most of which are open to the public. For 200 years, the decor and decoration of the house have not changed. A grand marble staircase leads to the upper floor, walls along the stairs are decorated with paintings by the Maltese artist Ramiro Cali. A huge bohemian crystal chandelier, made in the 8th century, an old bureau that openly turns into a mini chapel, portraits of Popes Clement XI and Clement XIV adorn the interior of the Great Hall. The palazzo has a large collection of paintings, family portraits, furniture, dishes, silverware dating from the 16th - 20th centuries. De Piro's family archive, a collection of old costumes, lace, and a library are of great historical value. In the chapel, which adjoins the Great Hall of the palace, there is an ancient icon of the Mother of God and a crucifix. The Blue Hall holds unique silver surgical instruments that belonged to a doctor of the Hospitallers' Order. The Maltese knights were not only military and religious orders, their medical knowledge was at a very high level, they knew how to treat cataracts of the eyes and even remove the gallstone. The private underground bomb shelter, which hid during the bombing of Valletta, was built in 1935. It was a network of underground tunnels that led into a stone room that can accommodate up to 100 people. On Friday nights, the owner of the palace conducts a tour “Champagne Tour”, at the end of which guests are treated to a marquise with a glass of champagne.
