Edward Munch Museum
Norway, Oslo

Dedicated exclusively to the work of the Scandinavian artist Edward Munch (1863-1944), the museum's collection was his gift to the city. She presents his work from early realism to expressionism of recent days. Munch painting in Norway is the most famous contribution to the history of world art. The collection contains 1,100 paintings, about 4,500 sketches, about 18,000 prints, many painted plates, six sculptures, and important documentary materials. Exhibitions change from time to time. One of the most popular exhibits, Scream, was stolen from a wall in broad daylight in August 2004. This Munch's masterpiece, valued at $ 75 million, was one of four versions written by the author.
