Serengeti National Park
Tanzania, Arusha

Serengeti is the most famous park in Tanzania, by some estimates the best in the world. Its name comes from the Masai word “siringet”, meaning “elongated platform”. To establish this park in 1951, 14,763 square meters were allocated. km, and since then Serengeti is the second largest park after Sedous Park. Serengeti is located at an altitude of 920 to 1850 meters above sea level. Its landscape varies from meadows with long or short grass in the south to savannas in the center and hills covered with forests in the north. And real forests are in the western part of the park.
Serengeti Park is known primarily because of the annual migration of thousands and thousands of animals, especially wildebeests, whose total population in the park is about 1.5 million individuals. During the dry season, they migrate from south to north and west, and vice versa during the rainy season. Along with antelopes, predators also migrate, for which weak and sick animals are easy prey.
