Town Hall Square (Danish Rådhuspladsen) is a public square in the center of Copenhagen, Denmark, located opposite Copenhagen City Hall. The large size, central location and belonging to the city hall make this place popular for various events, celebrations and demonstrations. The area is often used as a central point for measuring distances from Copenhagen.
Town Hall Square is located in the southwestern part of the Stroget pedestrian street, which connects it with Kongens Nytorv, another large city center square along which Gammeltorv / Nytorv and Amagertorv pass. Opposite Strøget, Westerbrogade extends to the Westerbro district, and then crosses the border with Frederiksberg. H.S. Andersen Boulevard, Copenhagen's most congested street, and Wester Voldgade pass through the square on both sides of the city hall.
In addition to City Hall, notable buildings around the square include Politikens Hus, the headquarters of the national daily Politiken, Industriens Hus and DI headquarters.
