Pagoda of Peace
Nepal, Pokhara

Stupa of Peace, Pagoda of Peace is a Buddhist stupa located in Pokhara - one of the most beautiful and tourist attractive cities of Nepal. The stupa is on top of a green hill, where numerous steps lead. A traveler who has climbed a steep climb will be rewarded with stunning views from here. At the foot of the hill lies Pokhara and the famous Thebes Lake - one of the most remarkable lakes in the region.
The stupa was built under the leadership of Nitidatsu Fuji, a Buddhist monk from Japan, the founder of Nipponzan Mohoji. An ardent advocate of non-violence, he built about 80 such stupas around the world. He was inspired by a meeting with Mahatma Gandhi in 1931.
The round snow-white tower of the stupa tends to the sky, and sacred statues are located on 4 cardinal points.
Stupa of the World is one of the main attractions of Pokhara, which attracts tourists and pilgrims throughout the year.
