Montego Bay Marine Park - a park in the style of Yosemite National Park or the Great Barrier Reef, whose responsibility is to protect and manage natural resources. This is done through scientific control of the bay, through the creation of park instructions and various programs for the conservation and breeding of populations. Montego Bay Marine Park is not a theme park, admission is free.
A marine park is a coastal water area with geographical boundaries that has been declared an ecological reserve to protect the environment in accordance with state law. Instructions and programs describe activities that may or may not be allowed within its borders to protect the habitat and species of the inhabitants of the park.
Montego Bay Marine Park Foundation is a non-profit, non-governmental organization responsible for the Management of Montego Bay Marine Park. Founded by Friends of the Marine Park in Montego Bay, the Fund finances the Park's programs through donations, commercial production planning, fundraising and event organization.
