Cliff rodney
Dominica, Mahaut

Rodney Rock is a shallow (maximum 50 feet) diving spot offering one of the best dives. A huge variety of marine life can be found on this site, which offers mini caves and ledges for prickly lobster, crabs and moray eels. The vertical surfaces of the coastline and large cliffs slightly offshore, covered with huge barrel sponges, gorgonians and hydroids make a spectacular, beautiful view of the sea. Sandy areas with seaweeds provide shelter to sea urchins, sea cucumbers, rays, eels, snakes and a very rare and elusive bat fish. The walls of the Rodney Rock are covered with corals and sponges, among which you can find octopuses, sea mice, seahorses and snapper fish. This area is ideal for evening dives, during which you can see the nocturnal lifestyle of squid, lobster and crab.
