Burj Al Arab is rightfully considered the symbol of Dubai. The building, 321 m high, stands in the sea at a distance of 280 meters from the shore on an artificial island connected to the land by a bridge. The building, designed in the shape of the sail of an Arabian dhow, houses the luxurious seven-star Burj Al Arab hotel, which opened on December 1, 1999.
It is noteworthy that the Burj Al Arab hotel characterizes itself as seven-star - the description is a hyperbole and an attempt to get out of the category of hotels that characterize themselves as six-star. Formally, all hotel rating systems have a maximum rank of 5 stars. According to the official website, Burj Al Arab is a five-star deluxe hotel.
Burj Al Arab is the pinnacle of architectural art of the entire Jumeirah complex. At the top of the hotel there is a helipad and the Al-Muntaha (Arabic: The Highest) restaurant. Also interesting is the Al-Mahara restaurant (Arabic: Oyster), where visitors are transported on a ship that imitates a submarine. In the restaurant, tables are arranged around a huge aquarium with marine life with a volume of more than a million liters. This restaurant was named one of the best restaurants in the world by Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
The most exquisite materials were used to decorate the interiors of Burj Al Arab: marble, precious woods, natural stone, leather, and even precious metals - more than 8,000 sq. m. of the hotel is decorated with pure gold of the highest standard!
