Milk River SPA is a mineral spa in the southwestern part of Clarendon Parish. The discovery of healing water is shrouded in a colorful legend here. Once in the 17th century, a slave beaten half to death ran away from his owner, and in the morning he returned completely healed. The owner made a deal with him: the slave revealed his secret, and the owner promised never to raise a hand against him again. The resort was opened to the public in 1794. Its waters are an order of magnitude more radioactive than the waters of Baden-Baden.
