Historical Boulevard is one of the most favorite places for walking and recreation for residents and guests of the city of Sevastopol. This is truly an open air museum. Here are remarkable historical monuments: Panorama "The Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855", the Museum of Heroic Defense and Liberation of Sevastopol, cinema pavilion, fountains, monuments F.F. Ushakov, E.I. Totleben, L.N. In 1928 it was renamed in honor of the 100th anniversary of L.N. Tolstoy Boulevard began to be called his name. On May 1, 1933, a culture and recreation park was opened at this height, having built a summer stage and dance floor. In 1941-1942 on the boulevard established the position of anti-aircraft artillery, near were the headquarters of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Black Sea Fleet, in the underground-mine galleries of the Crimean War period, courses of air defense commanders were placed. During the war, the Panorama building was destroyed, monuments and the park were damaged. Restoration work began already in 1945. By the 100th anniversary of the Sevastopol epic, the Panorama “Defense of Sevastopol 1854-1855” was restored, and in the late 80s a fountain appeared opposite it. In 1983, the monument to F.F. Ushakov. Now the boulevard is again called Historic and is one of the most popular tourist routes in Sevastopol.
