Belarusian Republican Theater for Young Spectators
Belarus, Minsk

The Belarusian Republican Theater for Young Spectators has more than half a century of history. The first Young Spectator Theater was opened in Minsk in 1931 and lasted until July 1941. In 1956, the Belarusian Youth Theater opened again. Despite the large-scale reconstruction begun at the end of 2008, the theater successfully tours and shows its performances at various venues in the Belarusian capital: in the House of Writers (5 Frunze St.) and the Club named after Dzerzhinsky (st. Komsomolskaya, 30). The reconstruction is planned to be completed by 2013, fully preserving the appearance of the architectural monument, which is the building of the Youth Theater. On the account of the creative team of the theater - many serious touring tours and festival awards, in the current repertoire - more than twenty performances; every season the theater produces at least three premieres. Almost all of them are intended for family viewing; The creative status of the collective is determined by the slogan “Our family theater”. The headings of the poster help to navigate the performances: “My first performances” are intended for the youngest spectators from three to seven years; "Magical stories and tales" - for children who are in elementary school and adolescents, less often - boys and girls; performances under the heading “The Art of Being Adult” gather spectators whose age has reached 14 years, in some cases - 18 years. It is known that before the Great Patriotic War the Theater of the Young Spectator of the BSSR worked in Minsk (since 1939 - named after N.K. Krupskaya). In 1937, the theater was headed by the famous director and teacher Evstigney Mirovich. The theater was famous not only in Belarus. The youngest, he was one of the sixteen best theaters in the country. There is information about the Youth Theater in detail in the History of the Belarusian Theater (Мн., 1985, Т.2.), But the Great Patriotic War stopped the theater. In 1951, the Bureau of the Central Committee of the CP (b) of Belarus (meeting minutes No. 139 from 2 Sak. - National Archive. F. 4P, c. 81, reference 405, p. 27) adopted a resolution: “1. Build in 1951-52 in Minsk the Republican Children's Theater ”... Full completion of construction - 1952. In 1966, the magazine "Public Education" (No. 4) published an article by V. Stelmakh, "A sincere friend of the school": "The Belarusian Theater of Young Spectators is 35 years old. It was created at the Minsk House of the Komsomol ... and the first artistic directors were director M. Kovyazin ... In 1941, the war interrupted the creative activity of the theater. It only resumed on April 8, 1956 with the play “How Steel Was Tempered” ... ... So consider how old our Theater of Young Spectators is now. Today, the building of the Theater of the Young Spectator is undergoing reconstruction. The temporary address for the performances: Minsk, st. Frunze, 5. Very soon, the renovated theater will open its doors to small spectators
