Park them. Chelyuskintsev
Belarus, Minsk

Park them. Chelyuskintsev was created in 1928-1931 on the southeastern outskirts of the city. The site on which the park is located was called Komarovsky Forest and became part of the city only in the 1920s. Until the 18th century, these lands belonged to the Bolshodnya estate, owned by the princes of Radzivila, and from the 18th century until 1918 to the noble family of Vankovichi.
In 1929 the All-Belarusian Stadium was built, which now houses the Palace of Water Sports, and in 1930 the All-Belarusian Agricultural Exhibition east of the street. Kalinin. Soon, next to the stadium on the Borisov highway (now Independence Avenue), a recreation park was laid. In 1932, the park opened to visitors, and in 1934 it was named after Chelyuskintsev.
Steamboat Chelyuskin was built in 1933, had a displacement of 7500 tons. In 1933, on this ship, an attempt was made to navigate the Northern Sea Route from Murmansk to Vladivostok in one navigation. O. Yu. Schmidt led the expedition to the Chelyuskin, and the captain of the ship, V.I. Voronin. February 13, 1934 the ship was crushed by ice in the Chukchi Sea. Flight participants were rescued by pilots.
Pilots who participated in the rescue of the Chelyuskinites were the first in the USSR to be awarded the title Heroes of the Soviet Union.
In the north-eastern part of the park is the grave of Soviet prisoners of war, underground and civilians. More than 10 thousand people who were shot by Nazi invaders during the war were buried here. In 1955, a monument was erected on the grave - a sculpture of a woman in grief.
There is a monument to the repressed in the 1930s in the park.
The territory of the park is divided into functional zones: quiet recreation, sports and recreation, recreation for children and adolescents, dance and playgrounds, attractions, administrative and outbuildings.
About 22 thousand trees grow in the park; its southern part differs significantly from the northern one by the species composition of vegetation. Deciduous trees prevail here. Of the conifers, only European larch is noted in the admixture of birch. There are several instances of cedar. In the plantations of natural origin in the park, pine, maple, warty birch prevail. Throughout the territory along the main alleys, decorative tree species (chestnut, linden, maple, birch, mountain ash, spruce, etc.) were planted.
Currently, the park is one of the central parks of the city of Minsk and has the status of historical and cultural value, as a historical monument and landscape architecture. It was reconstructed several times. The most ambitious was carried out from 2003 to 2010.
The total area of the territory is 59 hectares. Average capacity of 12 thousand visitors. The popularity of the park is due to its proximity to transport communications - it is adjacent to the main avenue of the city and the metro station Park Chelyuskintsev. This is one of the few social holiday destinations for people of different ages.
On the territory of the park there are 2 sports grounds, a sports equipment rental, a dance hall. In the central part of the park, a large, modern, bright playground with slides, a sandbox, a swing, etc.
Since 1979, the only open dance porch in the city has been operating, which is the main venue for all public events. About 200 events take place here during the year, 60 of which are for the elderly.
The park has 16 attractions, 9 of which belong to the park. In 2008-2009, 5 new attractions were installed in the park. In 2010, a new Ferris wheel with a height of 28 meters was installed.
