The High Tatras are the highest mountains in Eastern Europe. About 30 peaks rise above 2500 meters above sea level. The most famous resort centers of Shrebske Pleso, Smokovci and Tatranska Lomnica are connected by rail. This mountainous region is amazingly beautiful. Here is the largest and oldest national nature reserve in Slovakia. Necklaces of lakes, many waterfalls and dense coniferous forests that fill the air with healing phytoncides.
