Description
The Chu River, located close to Bishkek, is the favored spot for river rafting in Kyrgyzstan. With its high altitude of over 1,500 meters and a water temperature that varies between 15-18 degrees Celsius from June to mid-September – it’s the best season for rafting trips. Notably, Boom Gorge is part of this river where rafters often come to train as it’s considered the prime location in Central Asia. The accessibility of Chu River is better than other rivers and has rapids that are more manageable. Most tours last one to two days, but longer ones that include several rivers are also available.
