With fashion, music, dance, and theater, it offers a vibrant, festive experience that unites communities.

Celebrate the diversity of Zuidoost

The Kente and Fugu Festival is an annual event in Amsterdam Zuidoost, showcasing the cultural diversity of the borough. Since 2008, the festival has blurred the boundaries between fashion, dance, people, music, and theater.

The Kente Festival highlights Ghanaian fashion, cultural expressions, and music in the Netherlands, fostering pride and self-awareness among people of Ghanaian heritage and building a bridge between this culture and Dutch society.

Organized by members of the target community, the festival knows how to best engage the multicultural audience with its program.

In addition to promoting Ghanaian culture, the festival has, in recent years, also provided a platform for other African-rooted cultures in Zuidoost, such as Surinamese and Caribbean traditions.

The audience experiences the Kente Festival as vibrant, groundbreaking, and colorful.
