Science in the City Festival
Malta, Floriana
27.09.2024 - 28.09.2024

Science in the City Festival has been building bridges between researchers, artists, and the community for over a decade. The festival is part of the European Researchers’ Night, which takes place on the same nights in over 300 cities across Europe.

With over 30,000 visitors every year and 20,000 views in the online festival, it is a fantastic opportunity for scientists, artists, and citizens to collaborate and get creative. The festival occurs in multiple forms but has the same goal: engaging the community with science and creativity, giving a platform to local people to share their perspective, and advocating for positive change.

This year’s Science in the City shows and performances are inspired by the J.E.D.I. (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) theme. The festival includes local and international performers and researchers; it highlights women in STEAM careers in the SHE CAN exhibition; runs workshops about social justice in board games; and is opening up a neurodivergent discussion with a question, “Am I normal?”.
