The programme for the first weekend of September in San Marino promises a rich mix of traditions, culture and entertainment.

Feast of Saint Marinus and Foundation of the Republic Day - 3 September

The historic centre will host a day dedicated to faith and heritage. The programme includes religious services honouring the Patron Saint, the atmospheric Historical Procession and the traditional Palio delle Balestre Grandi (Great Crossbow Tournament). In the afternoon, Piazza della Libertà will resonate with the music of the Republic's Military Band, accompanied by vocalist Valentina Monetta. Later, the traditional Grand Tombola will take place, and the evening will culminate with a concert by Marina Rei at Campo Bruno Reffi, followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Women's lab at sunset - 4 September

An evening focused on wellness and socialising for women. The schedule includes Pilates, a sunset yoga session, and a guided Silent Party. A Mini Lab for children will provide entertainment for the little ones. The "Buonissimo per Natura" food truck will be available for those wishing to stay for dinner.

From the Tourist to the Farmer - 4 to 6 September

This event is a celebration of San Marino's culinary and agricultural heritage. Attendees can meet producers, explore the six local food supply chains, and enjoy tastings, workshops (for adults and children), traditional games, street food and live music. Highlights include a pasta-making session with local 'azdore' (housewives) and a beeswax candle workshop. On 6 September at 17:30, the new "Dalla Terra alla Tavola" venue, the Campo della Fiera lift, and the Cantinette will be inaugurated in Borgo Maggiore. The celebrations continue with a DJ set at 20:00 near the Cable Car and at 22:00 in Piazza Grande.

6th Bunta's Car Meeting - 5 September

An event for fans of Japanese cars will be held in the P7 car park, close to the historic centre. From 14:00 onwards, visitors can admire the vehicles on display. Food trucks will be present. Entry for visitors is free.

San Marino Matsuri 2026 - 5 and 6 September

This year marks the 12th anniversary of the "San Marino Jinja", a symbol of friendship with Japan. The event features Japanese culture and traditions, including children's workshops, a kabuki performance by actor Otani Hiromatsu, and on Sunday, a procession with the golden Mikoshi through the Old Town streets.

Sacred Pop Icons by Simone Legno - until 30 September

The exhibition reinterprets Christian symbols through a contemporary, pop-art aesthetic. A project born from Expo Osaka 2025, it is part of the Saint Francis anniversary celebrations.
