Madagascar Airlines received a loan

The Madagascar Airlines turnaround plan will receive US$25 million as an advance from the World Bank after a thorough analysis of the Malagasy carrier's situation and business plan.


Funds provided under the World Bank's Economic Transformation Project for inclusive growth" could lead to increased investment in the development of Madagascar's aviation industry, reports simpleflying.com.

Iata reinstates Madagascar Airlines

Madagascar Airlines has regained its position in IATA after a nine-year hiatus.


Thierry de Bayeul, CEO of Madagascar Airlines, announced during a press conference that the airline has successfully returned to the BSP system and the clearing house Iata. This means the airline will once again be able to distribute tickets through BSP-affiliated travel agents, offering a wider range of options

New luxury resort to open in Madagascar

A new luxury resort, Voaara, will open in March on the island of Sainte-Marie (also known as Nosy Boraja) off the northeast coast of Madagascar .


The resort, which has undergone a major renovation, will initially open with eight luxury bungalows and a three-bedroom villa.


The hotel will eventually have 45 rooms while construction is expected to take up to five years.

Qatar Airways will begin daily flights between Doha and Madagascar following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) and the Civil Aviation Authority Madagascar (ACM) to establish direct air links between the two countries. The route's launch date has not yet been confirmed.
