The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has introduced the “Amazing Thailand Passport Privileges @ Hat Yai” campaign, a series of on‑site activities aimed at revitalising tourism in Southern Thailand. The initiative runs from 1 to 30 April 2026.

Key elements of the campaign include:

  • Distribution of an “Amazing Bag” to international visitors who present their passports at designated booths in Hat Yai International Airport, Sadao Customs Checkpoint or Padang Besar Customs Checkpoint.
  • A lucky‑draw “Lucky Bag” with prizes valued at more than 500,000 THB.
  • Exclusive discounts and privileges redeemable via a QR code at over 100 participating restaurants, hotels and retail outlets throughout the region.

The “Amazing Bag” contains handcrafted items that showcase the cultural heritage of Southern provinces, such as herbal inhalers (Songkhla), tie‑dye textiles (Surat Thani), batik tote bags (Nakhon Si Thammarat), tie‑dye products (Trang), kra‑jood bags (Phatthalung), batik card holders (Pattani), batik hats (Narathiwat) and up‑cycled batik keychains (Krabi).

According to TAT Governor Ms Thapanee Kiatphaibool, the campaign is designed to invite travellers from Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore to experience Southern Thailand with confidence, while supporting local businesses that have been affected by the November 2025 floods.

TAT estimates that the programme will generate at least 480 million THB in tourism revenue, contributing to the economic recovery of the South and reinforcing its image as a safe, welcoming destination.
