The Maldives will become a global centre for the creator economy by organising the first World Creator Summit 2026 and the accompanying World Creator Awards, both powered by the Creatoll platform. The event is scheduled for 20‑25 September 2026 and will bring together leading digital creators, content platforms, publishers, tourism representatives and brand partners.
Designed as an invitation‑only gathering, the programme will host roughly 50 carefully selected participants. It will combine thought‑leadership sessions, hands‑on destination experiences and a formal awards ceremony that recognises excellence in creator‑driven storytelling, digital influence and cultural impact.
The summit aims to showcase the Maldives as a premier meeting point for future tourism narratives, with thematic focus on luxury, wellness, sustainability, culture and innovation. Expected attendees will represent key source markets such as India, the United Kingdom, China, Russia, France, Germany and Italy.
Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) has partnered with the organisers of the World Travel Awards to develop and position the event internationally. The collaboration was formalised in a signing ceremony held in Malé on 2 April 2026, attended by VMC CEO and Managing Director Ibrahim Shiuree and World Travel Awards Executive Vice President Justin Cooke.
“Creator‑led media is reshaping how destinations are promoted,” said Ibrahim Shiuree. “The World Creator Summit and Awards will give the Maldives a powerful platform to influence the global conversation on tourism storytelling.”
Justin Cooke added, “Our goal is to create a premium, internationally relevant forum—not a generic social‑media gathering—where creators, platforms and destination leaders can shape the next chapter of travel marketing.”
