The Ritz‑Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands – a luxury resort situated in the North Malé Atoll – announced on 5 March 2026 that Maldivian pastry chef Aminath is back at the property. Aminath, the founder of Maldivian Patisserie, has trained abroad and earned several accolades, such as Best Maldivian Pastry Chef 2022, gold medals at the Food and Hospitality Asia Maldives Awards, and participation in the Asian Pastry Cup in Singapore. Her previous experience includes positions at The Ritz‑Carlton Maldives, Waldorf Astoria Maldives, Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, and Dolce Italia Bakery in Sri Lanka.
To mark her return, the resort launched a collaborative collection called “A Taste of Homecoming”. The range showcases pastry items that blend local ingredients with international techniques, featuring flavored dragées, almond Florentine, cranberry‑macadamia cookies, coconut latte cookies and palmiers. These products are sold in a dedicated retail corner inside La Locanda restaurant.
In addition, Chef Aminath and Maldivian Patisserie will produce turndown chocolates and in‑villa cookies for guests, integrating the creations into the overall hospitality experience.
This project is the resort’s second partnership with a Maldivian female creative, following a previous collaboration with artist Shimha Shakeeb, whose works are displayed throughout the property. The Ritz‑Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands continues to support local artists and entrepreneurs through similar initiatives.
