Four Seasons Resort Seychelles is pleased to announce the arrival of Dr. Katrina “Kat” Himpson, who will serve as the resort’s Marine Conservation Specialist. Dr. Himpson brings a blend of veterinary training, advanced conservation studies, and extensive field experience.
Originally from Scotland, she began her career as a veterinarian working with both wildlife and domestic animals, which sparked her interest in ecosystem protection. She later earned a Master’s degree in Conservation from the University of Exeter.
From 2022, Dr. Himpson worked at Four Seasons Resort Landaa Giraavaru in the Maldives, first as a Turtle Specialist and subsequently as Marine Centre Manager. In that role she led coral‑reef restoration projects, coordinated community outreach, and developed a multi‑year marine education programme for local students, securing university scholarships and publishing research on turtle rehabilitation.
At the Seychelles resort, Kat will oversee marine‑conservation initiatives and design guest experiences that showcase the archipelago’s rich marine biodiversity. She aims to deepen visitors’ connection with the ocean through guided activities, educational talks, and support for ongoing research.
Outside of work, Kat enjoys running, freediving and underwater photography, pursuits that further her appreciation of the marine environment.
Four Seasons Resort Seychelles looks forward to expanding its marine‑science programmes under Dr. Himpson’s guidance in the coming months.
