On Saturday, 14 March 2026, at 16:30, the Teatro Titano in the Republic of San Marino will host the ninth edition of the Alberto Sordi Family Award. The prize, created in 2017, honors artistic talent and civic commitment that reflect the cultural and human legacy of the renowned Italian actor Alberto Sordi.
The event is supported by the State Secretariat for Tourism and the San Marino Tourism Office and marks the first time the award is presented on the Titano, underlining its international scope and itinerant character.
Among the eleven laureates for 2026 are civil‑rights activist Francesca Pascale, television presenter Chiara Squaglia (known for “Striscia la Notizia”), and TV host Simona Ventura. The award was conceived by journalist and TV presenter Igor Righetti, a cousin and biographer of Sordi.
San Marino’s connection with Sordi dates back to 1995, when he premiered his film “Nestore, l’ultima corsa” in the capital and received the title of Knight of the Order of Sant’Agata. In tribute, several scenes of the documentary “Alberto Sordi Secret” (directed by Righetti) were filmed in the city.
The ceremony, organized by the communication agency Loro Comunicazione, will begin with a photocall at 15:30, followed by the award presentation at 16:30. Honorees will include national and international figures as well as local personalities such as historian Giuseppe Giardi, creator of the “Storie in Flanella” podcast. A special homage will be paid to the late Countess Patrizia de Blanck, a close friend of Righetti and a notable television figure.
The arrival of the Alberto Sordi Family Award in San Marino reinforces the republic’s role as a venue for high‑profile cultural and tourism initiatives that blend creativity with social responsibility.
