Minor Hotels has signed management agreements with the MK Group to operate two newly refurbished resorts on the Adriatic coast. The properties will join the group’s portfolio in early 2027 under the luxury Anantara brand and the newly created Minor Reserve Collection.

Located in the seaside resort of Portorož, the 183‑room Hotel Palace will offer a blend of contemporary design and traditional wellness experiences. Guests can enjoy three restaurants, three bars, a full‑service spa, indoor and outdoor pools, direct beach access and dedicated meeting facilities for both leisure and business travellers.

Set on the Istrian peninsula in Savudrija, the 186‑room Adriatic Istria Resort will feature multiple dining venues, a comprehensive spa and wellness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach, and a premier 18‑hole golf course that runs along the coastline. The resort will also provide extensive MICE facilities for conferences, events and weddings.

Both hotels are owned by the MK Group, a diversified company active in tourism, real estate, renewable energy, agriculture and food production across Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro. The partnership aims to strengthen Minor Hotels’ presence in Central and Southeast Europe, tapping into the growing demand for high‑end, experience‑driven hospitality.

Key statements:

  • “Accelerating our footprint in Central and Southeast Europe responds to robust tourism growth and the desire for distinctive luxury experiences,” said Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels.
  • “These projects set a new benchmark for the region, combining authentic local wellness traditions with world‑class facilities,” added Mihailo Jankovic, CEO of MK Group.

Accessibility is supported by nearby airports, including Trieste (Italy), Portorož (Slovenia) and Pula and Rijeka (Croatia). The openings complement Minor Hotels’ broader strategy to grow its luxury brands, particularly the Anantara portfolio and the Minor Reserve Collection, which unites independent luxury properties under a global distribution platform.
