From 18 to 22 February, JOALI BEING will host an exclusive culinary partnership with Chef Kelvin Cheung, the award‑winning pioneer of “Third Culture” cuisine who has been highlighted by the MICHELIN Guide and listed among MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants.
The programme invites guests to celebrate renewal and togetherness through a thoughtfully designed series of dining events and workshops.
Chef Cheung, a Canadian‑born, Chicago‑raised culinary talent now based in Dubai, blends his Chinese heritage, North‑American upbringing and classical French training. His philosophy centres on memory, movement and meaning, resonating with the spirit of the Lunar New Year and JOALI BEING’s focus on conscious, well‑living experiences.
The collaboration will unfold across JOALI BEING’s signature venues, offering shared meals that tell cultural stories, immersive sessions at the Culinary Learning Centre, and a focus on food as both nourishment and a creative expression. Ingredients will be carefully sourced, combining local and global produce while respecting the land and ocean.
Highlights include a series of exclusive dinners featuring Chef Cheung’s signature Third Culture dishes, hands‑on cooking classes for adults, and a dedicated kids‑only class inspired by the chef’s own experiences cooking with his son. The children’s workshop aims to foster confidence, curiosity and personal expression through food.
This residency forms part of JOALI BEING’s broader Lunar New Year celebrations, which will also feature festive dining, hot‑pot gatherings, tea rituals, wellbeing activities, marine adventures, sports, interactive workshops and sunset gatherings, creating an island‑wide, family‑friendly celebration.
Families and groups staying in the resort can also take advantage of the Residence Escape Offer, providing extended stays in three‑ and four‑bedroom residences designed for relaxed, shared moments.
