HEART OF MOLDOVA tour showcases Ocnita, Naslavcea attractions

The National Tourism Office organised an informational trip called “Heart of Moldova” to the northern villages of Ocnita and Naslavcea. The aim was to highlight authentic attractions, cultural heritage and local cuisine.

In Ocnita participants visited the Constantin Stamati House‑Museum, a historic building linked to the 19th‑century writer Constantin Stamati. According to guide Lilia Proca, the museum preserves the atmosphere of the old manor, where intellectuals gathered, and the linden tree in the courtyard serves as a living witness to Stamati’s legacy.

The programme then moved to Naslavcea, where the group explored the “Moldovan Trout” complex, a key stop on Moldova’s Gastronomic Route. Visitors learned about trout farming in natural conditions, sampled traditional trout dishes, and enjoyed a winter‑carol performance.

A highlight of the visit was the Blue Lake, an artificial lake formed after stone extraction, renowned for its vivid colour and surrounding landscape.

Tour organiser Angela Crucichevici noted that coordinating a group of about 40 people required significant effort, but the enthusiasm of local tourism representatives was essential for creating genuine experiences.

The excursion concluded at the “Rock Cellar” guesthouse (Beciul din Stâncă), a traditional accommodation overlooking the Heart of Moldova Island, where participants were offered local hospitality and cuisine.

CE Report adds that the National Tourism Office regularly conducts similar tours for agents, guides and media, recently covering sites in the Drochia district and launching a cross‑border Gastronomic Route between Moldova and Romania.
