Wizz Air launches Skopje‑Prague flight

Wizz Air has started a new direct service linking Skopje with Prague, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, after receiving state support.

The airline also reinstated a Skopje‑Cologne connection, departing at 19:25 and running on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska said the new route demonstrates Macedonia's effort to strengthen ties with Europe and to boost tourism, business and investment.

According to TAV Macedonia General Manager Nejat Kurt, the connection will facilitate passenger flow and create new opportunities for economic cooperation and cultural exchange between the two capitals.

Wizz Air’s Head of Communications Andras Rado confirmed that a one‑way ticket for the Skopje‑Prague flight in January will cost €21 and that no price changes are planned.

The airline expects a 20 % increase in passenger numbers at Macedonian airports next year, reaching more than 3.5 million travelers.

Separately, a recent earthquake was reported in North Macedonia.
