Minor Hotels has announced the appointment of Genna Panagopoulos as Vice President of Development for North America. Panagopoulos brings more than 14 years of experience in hotel investment, development and brand strategy, most recently with IHG where she helped grow luxury and lifestyle brands across the Americas.
In her new role she will lead the group’s franchise and management agreements for its portfolio of brands, including Anantara, The Wolseley, Tivoli, Minor Reserve, NH Collection, nhow, Avani, Colbert Collection, NH Hotels and iStay by NH. Her responsibilities cover all market segments, from city hotels and resorts to branded residences, ensuring a cohesive expansion strategy aligned with the company’s global objectives.
According to Laia Lahoz, Chief Assets and Development Officer for Minor Hotels Europe & Americas, the appointment marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth plan for the United States and Canada, enhancing its ability to form long‑term partnerships with owners and investors under an asset‑light model.
The hire supports Minor Hotels’ ambition to increase its portfolio to 850 properties by 2027, expanding its presence in both established and emerging markets.
