Under the Light of the Great Star, “Christmas of Wonders” 2025‑2026 Begins on November 29

The historic centre of San Marino will host the new edition of the winter celebration “Christmas of Wonders” from 29 November 2025 until 6 January 2026. This year’s theme is “A Timeless Story”. The UNESCO‑listed streets and squares will be illuminated with extensive lighting, musical soundscapes and visual scenography, creating a unique festive route.

The highlight is the “Great Star”, a large illuminated structure placed in Piazza della Libertà, set to become the most photographed symbol of the event.

Opening day activities start at 16:00 with the Mabò Band, which will perform a lively set while moving from Via Donna Felicissima through Piazza Titano and Via Eugippo to the main square. Afterwards, the gospel choir Voices of Joy will present a program of traditional and contemporary Christmas songs in the square. At 17:00 the official inauguration ceremony, attended by local institutions, will take place.

Key attractions include:

  • At Campo Bruno Reffi, the “Timeless Village” will offer heated indoor spaces where children can take part in craft workshops, animated readings and meet Santa Claus (until 25 December). The village also features a wooden mini‑carousel, a large Christmas tree, a miniature train on a track, and a six‑metre‑tall luminous star.
  • The illuminated trail continues to Piazzale Domus Plebis, where a star‑shaped light installation will be complemented each evening from 17:00 by artistic projections on the façade of the Basilica del Santo.
  • Traditional Christmas markets along Via Eugippo and Via Donna Felicissima will showcase local crafts, gastronomic specialties and seasonal sweets.

The event officially opens at 10:30 on Saturday, 29 November.

Organisation is entrusted to NexTime Eventi (Alberto Di Rosa) under the artistic direction of Simone Ranieri, on behalf of the State Secretariat for Tourism and the Tourism Office.
