‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow Successfully Launched in Central Eastern Europe

Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC) and the National Hotel and Guesthouse Association of Maldives (NGHAM) have jointly organised the “I AM Maldives” Roadshow 2025, targeting three emerging European markets – Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.

The initiative aims to raise the profile of the Maldives in the region, strengthen business links and promote the archipelago as a preferred holiday destination for travellers from Central and Eastern Europe.

The roadshow will be held in Warsaw on 17 November, Bucharest on 19 November and Prague on 21 November, bringing together travel agents, tour operators, media representatives and other industry professionals.

A total of 26 exhibitors, including resorts, hotels, guesthouses, liveaboard operators and travel agencies, will showcase the Maldives’ hospitality standards, luxury offerings, community‑led tourism projects and a wide range of tourism products. The programme features presentations, one‑to‑one business meetings and networking sessions.

“The response from the Polish travel community has been exceptional,” said Abdulla Nasheed, President of NGHAM. “There is genuine enthusiasm for authentic Maldivian experiences, from community‑led tourism on local islands to world‑class resort stays.”

“The ‘I AM Maldives’ Roadshow reflects our strategic focus on emerging European markets with strong growth potential,” stated Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of VMC. “By deepening partnerships and increasing awareness among regional trade partners, we aim to attract more visitors from Poland, Romania and the Czech Republic.”

The roadshow supports VMC’s goal of reaching 2.3 million arrivals in 2025. By the end of September 2025, 86 860 visitors had arrived from Central and Eastern Europe, surpassing the 86 574 recorded in the same period of 2024.

In addition to market expansion, the event provides destination training, updates on travel developments and gathers insights on traveller preferences to guide future marketing efforts.
