On 1 November 2025 the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) will open its doors to the public. It will become the world’s largest archaeological museum, housing more than 100 000 Pharaonic objects.

The inaugural exhibition will focus on the tomb of King Tutankhamen, presenting the complete collection of roughly 5 000 items – the golden death mask, jewellery, chariots, furniture and ceremonial beds – many of which are being displayed publicly for the first time. Additional highlights include a reconstructed Khufu solar barque and interactive displays that explore recent discoveries about the young pharaoh.

Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, situated on the Nile’s historic banks, will serve as a luxurious base for visitors. The hotel has introduced newly designed Premium Rooms and Suites by Pierre‑Yves Rochon, inspired by the river’s flow and featuring original Egyptian artwork.

Guests can enjoy Egyptian‑inspired spa treatments such as Cleopatra’s milk and honey baths, as well as herbal poultices with locally sourced mint, cloves and chamomile. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Zitouni, offers authentic dishes like molokhia, fattah and freshly baked baladi bread, complemented by panoramic Nile views. In total, the property provides nine additional dining venues.

Four Seasons also offers curated excursions to the Pyramids of Giza, Saqqara, Old Cairo and the bustling Khan El Khalili bazaar, with private tours and concierge services available.
