During Estonia’s Defence Week, the Estonian defence firm DefSecIntel Solutions and Latvia’s Origin Robotics signed a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly develop the “Drone Wall” – the first operational, cross‑border system in Europe designed to detect and neutralise hostile unmanned aerial vehicles.

The solution combines long‑range radar, electronic‑warfare capabilities and autonomous interceptor drones. DefSecIntel contributes the Eirshield platform, a modular C‑UAS system refined through deployments in Ukraine, while Origin Robotics supplies its Blaze interceptor, a portable AI‑driven drone capable of tracking and destroying fast‑moving aerial threats.

Both companies emphasise that the system is already field‑ready and is being positioned to protect the eastern flank of the EU. An investment of €12 million has been earmarked for the construction of the Baltic Drone Wall, with additional government funding planned over the next three years.

The partnership reflects a broader Baltic effort to create a scalable, cost‑effective defence against loitering munitions, reconnaissance UAVs and swarm attacks, leveraging proven technologies and rapid‑deployment concepts.
