Rama described the lake as the “natural treasure of the North,” citing remarks from the Albanian Telegraphic Agency.
He stressed that the area combines serene natural scenery with a wide range of activities, making it suitable for relaxation, adventure, and cultural experiences.

As the largest lake on the Balkan Peninsula, it lies on the border between Albania and Montenegro.
The water body hosts a rich and distinctive array of flora and fauna, positioning it as a significant European biodiversity centre. Its deepest point reaches approximately 45 metres.
