Four Seasons Hotel The Westcliff in Johannesburg has opened a new Grand Ballroom, designed as a versatile venue for celebrations, meetings and curated experiences. Situated high above the city, the space offers sweeping panoramic views of Johannesburg’s skyline and urban forest, while providing easy motorway access and ample parking.
The ballroom is built to host landmark events, accommodating up to 400 guests for seated dinners. It can be divided into three independent salons, allowing simultaneous sessions or more intimate gatherings. Suitable for weddings, award ceremonies, corporate conferences, exhibitions, product launches and refined receptions, the venue also features dedicated drive‑in access for automotive presentations and large installations.
Beyond the main hall, guests can enjoy a spacious pre‑function lobby that opens onto a terrace with city vistas, as well as two landscaped garden areas ideal for ceremonies, cocktail hours and photography. Together with the hotel’s existing twelve private venues, the Grand Ballroom creates a complete events campus on the Westcliff ridge.
Design elements reflect Johannesburg’s mining heritage, incorporating metallic accents, natural stone and textured finishes. A custom hand‑illustrated jacaranda wallpaper by Waldman Studios (printed by Fabric Bank) brings the city’s urban forest indoors. Vintage chandeliers with overlapping glass leaves, checkerboard marble flooring in warm tones, and botanical‑patterned carpets complete the elegant atmosphere, enhanced by natural daylight and layered accent lighting.
“With the Grand Ballroom, we have created a space that breathes possibilities,” says Martin Cody, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “It adapts, inspires and brings people together, embodying Johannesburg’s dynamic character as the city’s most luxurious event venue.”
