On January 21, 2025, the MICHELIN Guide ceremony and the opening of the new Austrian selection for 2025 took place at Hangar-7, a gala event at which the renowned culinary guide presented his restaurant selection for the whole of Austria for the first time since 2009.
The return of the MICHELIN Guide and the ceremony were initiated and jointly organized by the Austrian National Tourist Office (ANTO) and the provincial tourism authorities associations. The MICHELIN Guide evaluates restaurants according to five criteria that are consistent throughout the world: quality of ingredients, mastery of culinary techniques, originality of cuisine and consistency both in time and in the menu as a whole. Restaurant evaluations are conducted by in-house inspectors who conduct their tests in complete anonymity and according to clearly defined and objective criteria.
