Abu Dhabi will be home to the world's second Sphere.
This state-of-the-art entertainment complex aims to enhance the city's cultural and tourism offerings by providing visitors with a unique entertainment experience.
The first Sphere location opened in Las Vegas in September 2023 to international acclaim. The Abu Dhabi venue, which is expected to follow the 20,000-capacity model of Las Vegas, will feature Sphere's signature combination of cutting-edge technology and exciting content.
There is no expected opening timeline for the new Sphere were published.
James Dolan, Executive Chairman and CEO of Sphere Entertainment, said: “The vision for Sphere has always been to be a global network and this partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi (Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi) is an important step towards this goal."
The existing Las Vegas Sphere opened in 2023 and is considered the city's most expensive entertainment venue. At 111 meters high and 157 meters wide, it is believed to be the largest spherical structure in the world. The high-definition LED screen covers half of the 17,500-seat auditorium.
