Airlink will expand its regional air services with flights to Africa's most populous city, Kinshasa, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Johannesburg-Kinshasa flights will begin on March 28 next year.
The new service will operate three times a week on modern 98-seat twin-engine Embraer E190 aircraft.
“DR Congo is an important market for Airlink. We first entered the ring in 2020 with flights to Lubumbashi, and now we are ready to continue by adding Kinshasa to our impressive regional network. This will provide customers along the route with much greater coverage and travel options than they currently have. Kinshasa is a regional heavyweight. In addition to being the political and economic capital of the country, it is Africa's most populous city with over 17 million inhabitants. Thanks to a combination of Airlink's schedule, connections and excellent service, we expect to receive a stunning response,” said Airlink CEO and Managing Director Roger Foster.
Flights are scheduled to provide convenient domestic connections to South Africa and an impressive Airlink's suite of regional services, as well as long-haul flights provided by its global airline partners. Airlink currently operates an extensive network to more than 45 destinations in 15 African countries and St. Helena.
Flights will operate on the following schedule:
4Z011 departs FIH at 00:25 and arrives JNB at 05: 30 on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
