From spectacular sunset fireworks displays on the beach to delectable seafood in Shanghai's last fishing village, the Jinshan Tourism Festival promises an exciting array of activities for the weekend getaway and the upcoming Independence Day holidays.
The festival is underway. from September 22 to October 6 and offers more than 30 cultural and tourism events across three themes.
The "Coastal Celebration Series" showcases a fireworks celebration on the beach and a carnival of fishing culture. The Jiangnan Heritage Series includes a traditional lantern carnival in the city of Zhujing, as well as a display of traditional weddings in a water town. The "Countryside Fun Series" includes a garden party at Lanxia Country Park and a water kite festival at Caojing Country Park.
A highlight is the Shanghai Jinshan Beach Fireworks Festival, scheduled for October 4 and 6 . In addition to the stunning fireworks display, there will also be a fish lantern parade, live performances and plenty of food stalls.
Jinshanzui Fishing Village will hold its own Fishing Culture Festival from September 30 to October 7, culminating with a "banquet with yellow croaker" will be set in garden-style dining areas, providing a vibrant atmosphere and picturesque scenery.
There will also be a cooking competition featuring ingredients sourced from Jinshan.
