A unique safari dedicated to the conservation of big cats and other predators will take place in November 2024 for wildlife enthusiasts who want to understand what it takes to preserve these powerful animals in their natural habitat.
Organized by Green Safaris, the Carnivore Research Safari will combine classic safari activities such as game drives, nature walks and boat rides, with Panthera and Zambian Carnivore Program (ZCP) teams working to study, track, monitor and ultimately saving Zambian leopards, lions, hyenas, wild dogs and other predators. Green Safaris uses electric safari vehicles so you can enjoy real bush sounds without the telltale hum of a diesel engine.
The Raptor Safari runs from 15 to 21 November 2024. The route is planned as follows:
Day 1
Arrival in Lusaka and transfer to Ila Safari Lodge in Kafue National Park. Enjoy a river cruise and meet the Panthera team.
Days 2 and 3
Explore Kafue with Panthera, visit their field works and take exciting safari drives.
Day 4
Flight to South Luangwa and accommodation at Shawa Luangwa Camp for even more exciting wildlife encounters.
Days 5 and 6
Join the Zambia Raptor Research Program and visit both Project Luangwa and Conservation South Luangwa.
Day 7
End your safari with a final safari drive before returning to Lusaka.
The Predators Research Safari costs US$4,080 per person with a mandatory donation of $1,000 to be split between Panthera and ZCP. This fee includes all meals, accommodations, activities, non-premium drinks, fees, taxes, park fees and transfers. This does not include gratuities, flights to Lusaka or premium drinks. Contact Green Safaris directly. The number of places is limited.
