Gulmarg, one of the most beautiful cities of Kashmir, has a new tourist attraction. The new Gulmarg Army Museum, highlighting the heritage of the Kashmir Valley, was inaugurated by Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar, Lieutenant General in the Northern Command. Gulmarg aims to highlight the rich history of Kashmir and the important role of the Indian Army in the security and development of the region.
The new Gulmarg Army Museum, designed and built by the Dagger Division and its Himalayan Brigade, was inaugurated in the presence of senior military officials and civilian dignitaries.
This state-of-the-art facility honors the bravery, sacrifice and resilient spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. It offers exhibits on the contribution of the Army during the war, its role in national development and the vibrant cultural heritage of Jammu and Kashmir.
Colonel V N Thapar (retd) remarked to ANI, “This museum is more than just a building or tourist attraction; it is a tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the various wars fought by the country.”
He also noted that the museum reflects Kashmir's historical conflicts with Pakistan and China, standing as a testament to the valor of the soldiers and the stories their battles.
