Etihad Airways and Batik Air Malaysia have expanded their collaboration by launching a codeshare partnership to enhance connectivity for passengers on both airlines.
They are also enjoying the convenience of hassle-free delivery of their luggage to their final destination.
The agreement allows Etihad guests to travel to five new domestic codeshare destinations in Malaysia from the Batik hub in Kuala Lumpur (KUL): Johor Bahru, Langkawi, Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Tawau; as well as three international destinations: Danang and Hanoi in Vietnam and Perth in Australia.
Etihad operates two daily flights from Abu Dhabi to KUL.
General Batik Air Malaysia director Datuk Chandra Rama Muti said: “Through this partnership, we aim to welcome visitors from all over the world to explore Malaysia's diverse attractions, as well as destinations across Southeast Asia and beyond.
“We are committed to making KUL a transit hub, further enhancing Etihad's options for its passengers, providing a more comprehensive and convenient travel experience,” he said, adding that Etihad passengers can easily transit through KUL to various destinations in Malaysia , Southeast Asia, Australia and beyond."
The new code sharing is already in effect.
