To celebrate its 40th anniversary, Protea Hotels by Marriott has announced the opening of two new hotels, including its first hotel in Angola.
Protea Hotels by Mariott debuts in Angola with Protea by Mariott Luanda. The hotel is located between Luanda city center and Talatona. The hotel features 84 rooms and suites decorated in contemporary African style with terracotta-colored furnishings, as well as nearby access to a variety of businesses and private event venues.
The hotel will have its own restaurant, Múcua, open in all day, serving Portuguese and Angolan cuisine, and a rooftop bar where guests can enjoy drinks and light snacks with panoramic views of the surrounding area.
Guests have access to a fully equipped gym and outdoor swimming pool.
The hotel group's second newest addition is the Protea by Marriott Pretoria Hatfield. The hotel's goal is to attract business travelers and tourists. It is located close to diplomatic, government and corporate offices, as well as shopping malls and entertainment venues.
The hotel has 203 rooms and also features an African cuisine hotel, an African restaurant and a bar. The hotel also features five state-of-the-art meeting rooms capable of catering for both large and smaller events.
Angola will become the eighth African country in the Protea by Marriott portfolio. Having started out in South Africa, the hotel group has expanded to Botswana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda and Zambia, and now Angola.
