Machaba Safaris will open a new luxury tented camp Monachira in the north-eastern part of the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta in May 2025.

The new camp, located on the banks of the Monachira canal, will consist of eight luxury double tents and two two-bedroom family tents.

A mix of water and land-based activities will be offered, including boat and mokoro rides, fishing (on request), island hopping and a limited number of safaris, as well as in-room spa treatments.

Amenities camp amenities will include a pool, sunset bar, outdoor dining area, boma/fire pit, gift shop and lounge area. The camp will also be equipped with free Wi-Fi.

Children of all ages are welcome, but the minimum age for nature walks around the island is 16 years.

Before the camp Monachira can only be reached by helicopter from Kasane or Maun, the closest international gateway airports.

Founded in 2012, Machaba Safaris operates three camps in the Okavango Delta and Ngoma Safari Lodge in Chobe National Park, as well as two camps in Zimbabwe's Hwange National Park.
