Turkish Airlines will officially resume direct flights between Turkey and Libya on Thursday, March 28.
Bilal Eksi, CEO of Turkish Airlines, announced on social media X that flight sales are now open.
Flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. Flight TK639 will depart from Istanbul Airport at 08:00 and arrive at Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli at 10:00. The return flight TK640 will depart Tripoli at 12:00 and arrive in Istanbul at 16:20.
It was planned to launch the direct route in February after a gap of almost 10 years. Turkish Airlines stopped flying to Libya in 2014 due to security concerns as the country's civil war worsened.
