The Independent Union of Flight Attendants (UFO) has instructed Lufthansa's 19,000 cabin crew to continue their strike until Wednesday 13 March, following strikes last week.

Strikes currently affecting airport operations Frankfurt and Munich and follows failed negotiations for pay increases for all Lufthansa and Cityline cabin crew.

The demands for pay increases stem from complaints from Lufthansa cabin crew that the airlines are not taking serious inflation into account. In addition, the Lufthansa Group announced record profits of €1.7 billion in 2023, which UFO said should be reflected in increased pay for cabin crew, not just shareholders.

By according to UFO, the strikes will begin this morning, Tuesday 12 March, at 04:00 and will continue until 23:00 Wednesday, 13 March.

Lufthansa and Cityline have announced that strikes will affect flights departing from Frankfurt Airport today, and flights departing Munich on Wednesday.
