Haldwani, a beautiful city in Uttarakhand is going through tough times following the demolition of an allegedly illegal madrassa and mosque nearby on Thursday evening. News reports said the widespread violence left four people dead and about 250 injured.
The violence appears to have erupted on Thursday evening following the demolition of a madrassa and a mosque, prompting the district administration to impose a citywide curfew hour in Haldwani. The police were also ordered to shoot on sight at rioters. Internet services have also been cut off in the region.
