New visa for the World's Fair

Saudi Arabia will issue special visas to exhibitors and visitors to the World Expo, which will be held in Riyadh in 2030.

The Riyadh Royal Commission said the visa would allow exhibition visitors to "move seamlessly from the plane to the metro and to the exhibition site."

It is part of a wider trend in the Middle East, which follows Qatar's successful launch of the Haya Card, which was implemented in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup and attracted more than a million visitors.

The special visa is one of several projects that the Saudi Arabia launched ahead of Expo 2030 in Riyadh. The city also announced that in preparation it will be adding 70,000 new hotel rooms to accommodate the influx of tourists.

As the host city of the global exhibition, Riyadh will be transformed into a 6.6 square meter exhibition area sq. km. The World Expo has been compared to the Olympic Games in terms of tourist numbers, with Expo 2030 in Riyadh expecting 100 million visitors.
